Last updated: March 30, 2026
Home Theater Visualizer ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website hometheatervisualizer.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website and use our services.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and, if you choose to provide it, a display name. Authentication is handled by Supabase Auth, which may store a hashed password or OAuth tokens depending on your sign-in method.
Project Data
When you save a room design, we store the project configuration you create, including room dimensions, speaker placements, seating layouts, and acoustic treatment settings. This data is associated with your account so you can retrieve it later.
Analytics Data
We use Vercel Analytics to understand how visitors use our site. Vercel Analytics is privacy-friendly: it does not use cookies, does not track users across sites, and does not collect personally identifiable information. It provides us with aggregate metrics such as page views, visit duration, and referral sources.
2. Data Processing and Storage
Your account and project data is stored in a database managed by Supabase, which acts as our data processor. Supabase stores data in secured, encrypted databases. Our application is hosted on Vercel. Both Supabase and Vercel maintain their own privacy and security practices, and we encourage you to review their respective privacy policies.
3. Cookies
We use only essential cookies required for authentication. These cookies are set by Supabase Auth to maintain your login session. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or any third-party cookies for marketing purposes. Vercel Analytics operates without cookies.
4. We Do Not Sell Your Personal Data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We do not share your data with advertisers. Your room designs and account information are yours.
5. Affiliate Links & Third-Party Retailers
When you click an affiliate link on our site, you will be directed to a third-party retailer (such as Amazon.com) whose site is governed by their own privacy policy. These retailers may use cookies to track the referral. We receive anonymized commission data from affiliate networks but do not access your personal purchase details. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your account data and saved projects for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data and project data within 30 days. Aggregate, anonymized analytics data may be retained indefinitely as it cannot be linked back to you.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Delete your account and all associated data
- Export your project data in a portable format
- Correct any inaccurate personal data
- Withdraw consent for data processing at any time by deleting your account
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the information provided below.
8. GDPR Compliance
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Our legal basis for processing your data is: (a) your consent when you create an account; (b) the legitimate interest of providing and improving our service. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe we have not adequately addressed your concerns.
9. CCPA Compliance
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) grants you specific rights regarding your personal information. You have the right to request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, to request deletion of your personal information, and to opt out of the sale of personal information. As stated above, we do not sell personal information.
10. Children's Privacy
Our service is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
11. Changes to This Policy
